4 Tips for Creating The Most Elegant Party Tables

Lots of hosts and hostesses overlook it, but the right table settings can make a huge difference at your event. By remembering all of the “little things”, you can make sure that your event is unforgettable.

So, how do you do it?

If you want to create elegant party tables, follow these 4 tips:

1. Make sure your table linens are round
When your table linens are round, it means that you’re dealing with round tables – and that’s a good thing. When you’re hosting a party, round tables make it much easier for your guests to talk to each other. When you have rectangular tables, people are stuck talking to whoever is right next to them or right across from them. It’s simply too difficult to strike up a conversation with someone who is at the opposite end of a rectangular table.

2. Use table runners

Remember, whether you are planning a wedding, a dinner party, or an awards banquet, your success will lie in the details. Sure, having a nice tablecloth will look acceptable, but if you want people to walk in and say “wow”, you need table runners.

Why?

Table runners add a splash of color. In fact, you can get away with using table runners in colors that you could never get away with using as a full tablecloth. After all, would neon green satin tablecloths look good?

Probably not, but smaller neon green table runners will add just the right jolt of color.

3. Have plenty of cloth napkins on hand

If you are planning any kind of formal – or even semi-formal – event, then cloth napkins are an absolute must. After all, you can’t expect your guests to show up wearing their very best, then wipe their mouths with paper napkins!

Also, be sure to have plenty of cloth napkins available.

You never know when there’s going to be a spill, and the last thing you want is for one of your dinner guests to have to go without a napkin!

4. Opt for wedding linens in non-traditional fabrics
Just like the rest of your décor, your wedding linens should show off your personality. If your friends think of you as being a little bit “flashy”, why not get some shimmery satin wedding linens? Or, why not opt for wedding linens in a bright, bold color. After all, they are small enough that they can be bright – without looking tacky.
